Increase Your AdSense CRT

No one except for Google knows the exact formula for AdSense CTR (Click Thru Ratio). As much as we would like, it's safe to say that Google will never give the "secret formula" on it either. What we do know is that there are certain things that can do ourselves to help with our CTR. According to a Google AdSense Engineer: "Due to the dynamic nature of Google AdSense, fluctuations in your revenue will occur. Your earnings will depend on a number of factors, including the types of ads being served to your pages, the cost per click or cost per impression of these ads, and your users' click through selections. Regarding ad placement - the best ad format varies from page to page. We've observed that, in general, wider ads perform better because of their reader-friendly format. We strongly recommend putting your users first when deciding on ad placement. Think about their behavior on different pages, and what will be most useful and visible to them. You'll find that the most optimal ad position isn't always what you expect on certain pages."
The first you want to do is increase targeted traffic and then maintain the readers attention by giving them a simple, easy to read and navigate website. The second step is get the reader excited about the ads that are present. Anybody in sales knows that excitement about a product sells, and it's no different for AdSense. If the reader is genuinely interested in the website then moving over to your AdSense should feel natural, just like it was part of your website.
The third thing you want to do is experiment with the placement of AdSense. I think a lot of people just place some AdSense up and expect the revenue to just roll in. Be mindful of where you place your AdSense and then try something a little different to see if there is a change in clicks.
Don't forget about the Channels that is offered by AdSense. You can keep up with what is working and what isn't. You can keep tweaking until you get the best placement of you AdSense.
As the Google AdSense Engineer said, there is no exact formula, but there are little things that you can do that will make you go from saying "How come I'm not making any money" to "Cha-Ching baby!"
